This policy explains what information this website collects, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. We have kept it in plain language, because you should not need a lawyer to understand what happens to your information.

Information you give us
When you fill out the contact form, we collect your first name, last name, business name, email address, and whatever you write in the message field. We use that information to answer you. Nothing more.
If you schedule a call, that is handled by Calendly rather than by this site. Calendly collects whatever you enter when you book, and what it does with that information is governed by Calendly's own privacy policy, not this one.
Information collected automatically
Two things collect information automatically when you visit this site: Google Analytics, and a visitor identification service. Both are described below.
If you are visiting from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, neither of these runs until you press Allow on the banner shown on your first visit. Decline, and Google Analytics receives no cookies and the visitor identification service is never loaded at all.
This site uses Google Analytics 4 with enhanced measurement turned on. That means Google records things like:
- Which pages you view
- How far you scroll down a page
- Clicks on links that lead away from this site
- Video engagement and file downloads
- Interactions with the contact form
- Approximate location, at the city level — not your street address
- Device and browser information
Google may set cookies in your browser to do this. We use what it reports to understand which pages are useful and which are not. You can read how Google handles this data at policies.google.com/privacy, and you can opt out of Google Analytics entirely by installing Google's opt-out browser add-on.
Visitor identification
This site uses PostcardMania's visitor identification service. It does something different from analytics, so we want to be plain about it: it attempts to match your visit to a real person, including a physical mailing address, so that we can send direct mail to people who have looked at this site.
The matching happens on PostcardMania's side, using information it maintains from sources other than this website. It does not always find a match. When it does, we may end up with a mailing address for a visit you made without filling out a form or telling us who you are.
We use this to reach Wyoming businesses that might need a bookkeeper. We do not use it to build profiles on you, and we do not pass what it returns to anyone else. If you would rather not be identified this way, see Your choices below.
How we use it
We use the information you send us to respond to your inquiry, to provide the services you ask for, and to improve this website. That is the whole list.
We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone. We do not trade it. We do use the visitor identification described above to send our own mail about our own services — but your information does not go to other advertisers, and it is not for sale.
Third parties
A few services help us run this site. Each one handles data under its own privacy policy, and we would encourage you to read theirs if you have concerns:
- Netlify — hosts this website and receives contact form submissions
- Google — provides the analytics described above
- Google Fonts — serves the typefaces this site displays. Loading them tells Google your IP address and basic browser information, even if you never interact with the site.
- Calendly — handles call scheduling
- PostcardMania — runs the visitor identification service described above
Client financial information
If you become a client, the financial records you share with us during a bookkeeping engagement are a separate matter from this website. They are not collected through this site, they are not stored here, and they are not covered by this policy.
Those records are handled confidentially under the terms of your engagement agreement, which is where the specifics of confidentiality, access, and retention are spelled out.
Your choices
You have real options here, and none of them require you to ask permission:
- Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies. Check your browser's privacy settings.
- Google's opt-out browser add-on stops Google Analytics from collecting anything about your visits, here or anywhere else.
- If you submitted information through this site and want it deleted, email vicki@centsofwyoming.com and tell us. We will delete it and confirm when it is done.
- If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, pressing Decline on the consent banner stops the visitor identification described above before it loads. Anywhere else, blocking scripts or trackers in your browser, or using an ad blocker, has the same effect. You can also email vicki@centsofwyoming.com and ask not to receive mail from us.
Changes to this policy
If we change how this site handles information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. We will not make changes quietly and hope nobody notices.
